Visitors are welcome from Friday with free camping available on site.

On the water…

Saturday :-   3 – 4 races back to back with a conventional windward leeward configuration. Musto start time of 12.00 and B14 at 12.05. Sailing location up to 45 minutes downstream of sailing club.

Sunday :-   Single long distance race with a target time of 2 hours and start times of 10.30 and 10.35. The race is likely to start from the club line and will use clearly visible and numbered navigation marks, (Green odd numbers and Red even). This is in an effort to avoid an orienteering exercise for visitors whilst utilising the river location at it’s best.

Swale Smack & Barge Match
Aug 10 all-day

Approximate times of tides on 10 August will be 0445 and 1645, with Hollowshore accessible by water between about 0145 to 0745 and 1345 to 1945.

In turn, this will mean an early start and finish, with knock-on effects on timings of pre-match Briefing, Prizegiving and celebrations.

Unfortunately, this change has been forced on us by the (very late in the day) selection of dates for Mersea Week and Mersea Town Regatta, which would prevent most of the Smacks and Bawleys, which we are always most keen should also take part in the Swale Match, not being able to do so on our previously advised date.
